PENCIPTAAN KARYA TARI SIPAINGOT YANG TERINSPIRASI DARI ONANG-ONANG MANDAILING NATAL SUMUT

Abstract


The dance work "Sipaingot" was inspired by onang-onang who have a value of advice in their poetry. These Onang-onang come from North Sumatra's Mandailing Natal. The composer is interested in the advice on the onang-onang poem and it is related to the life of some of the composer's society now which is starting to individualism, visualized with five dancers and strengthened by live music and other compositional elements. The method of cultivation in this work is the method of exploration, improvisation and formation, both in concept and application of the choreography. This work was done with a socio-cultural theme and dramatick type, consisting of three plots, worked on atmosphere and displayed in the arena stage of the Padang Panjang Indonesian Institute of the Arts building, Boestanoel Arifin Adam.
