Abstract

The dance work "Risau" was inspired by a mother whose child left her to wander. The artist is interested in taking this concept because this phenomenon occurs a lot in society and the focus of the problem being worked on is about inner conflict or the feelings of a mother who has to endure pain and longing because she is separated from her husband. her son, visualized with nine dancers and reinforced with techno music and other compositional elements. The method of cultivation in this work is the method of exploration, improvisation and formation, both in concept and application of the choreography using social themes and dramatic types consisting of three plots of working on the atmosphere and shown in the arena stage of the Boestanoel Arifin Adam Auditorium building Padang Panjang Indonesian Art Institute.
