Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Ekspresi Seni: Jurnal Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Karya Seni will undergo a double-blind peer-review process, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process.

Each manuscript will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field of study. The peer-review process is designed to assess the relevance, originality, methodological rigor, and scientific contribution of each submission.

The review process follows these general steps:

  1. The manuscript is first reviewed by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal's scope and submission guidelines.

  2. If it passes the initial screening, the manuscript is assigned to at least two reviewers for a double-blind review.

  3. Reviewers evaluate the alignment between the title, abstract, discussion (findings), and conclusion, as well as the novelty, scientific impact, and quality of references used.

Plagiarism Screening:
To maintain academic integrity, all submitted manuscripts are routinely screened for plagiarism using reliable similarity detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate). Manuscripts with similarity scores exceeding 15% will be rejected immediately.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will decide to:

  • Accept the submission

  • Request revisions (minor or major)

  • Request resubmission for further review

  • Reject and recommend submission elsewhere

  • Decline the submission outright

Manuscripts may be rejected for the following reasons:

  • The topic is not aligned with the journal's scope.

  • The manuscript does not adhere to scientific writing standards or author guidelines.

  • The presence of fundamental methodological flaws.

  • The author's refusal to implement reviewers' suggestions without sound justification.

  • Evidence of plagiarism exceeding 15%.
