KESENIAN KUDA LUMPING PADA MASYARAKAT TELUK MERANTI KABUPATEN PELALAWAN PROVINSI RIAU DALAM KAJIAN SENI PERTUNJUKAN

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the art of Kuda Lumping in the Teluk Meranti community in the study of performing arts. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis, namely all data obtained, both written data and field data, are described and then analyzed according to the research problem, in the discussion of this research using the theory of performing arts by Sal Murgiyanto, the theory of form by Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, the theory of function by Edy Sedyawati, in addition to Pseudo-Ritual theory and functions by R.M Soedarsono. The art of Kuda Lumping is an art that is developing and much in demand by the people of Teluk Meranti. This Kuda Lumping art is shown as entertainment or a spectacle that can be done anytime and anywhere, without a series of ritual processes as usual in a Kuda Lumping show. This art performance has undergone a change where elements of magical rituals have been found or Pseudo-Rituals.
