TRANSFORMASI LEGENDA SIGALE-GALE KE DALAM PERTUNJUKAN SENI TARI

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the transformation of the Sigale-gale legend into a dance performance. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the legend of Sigale-gale has undergone a transformation in dance performances, both in elements of movement, sound, and appearance. The transformation according to Jorge Silvetti is done by deviating, regrouping, and assembling/reassembling the elements of the Sigale-gale legend while still adhering to its originality. This can be seen in the Sigale-gale dance which has undergone changes in movements, musical accompaniment, and costumes. This transformation is done as an effort to maintain local wisdom and introduce the Sigale-gale legend to the wider community.
