Abstract

The Sang Sako dance work is inspired by the leadership system in Minangkabua, namely Tungkun Tigo Sajrangan. Tungku tigo sajarangan is a figurative language for the leadership system in Minangkabau. Tungku Tigo Sajarangan is the collective leadership of the Minangkabau community, consisting of Niniak Mamak, Alim Ulama and Cadiak Pandai. The creator is interested in the philosophy of Tungku Tigo Sajarangan which is related to balance where this philosophy has all been well regulated. This is a source of inspiration in creating dance works with a focus on balance. This work is danced by eight male dancers using cultural themes and pure types. The props used in this work are wood and bamboo in the shape of an equilateral triangle, and a sarong which was demonstrated at the Hoerijah Adam Performance Building using Alma M. Hawkins' creation method which consists of exploration, improvisation and formation in addition to using the method by Alma M. Hawkins The creator also uses the evaluation stage.
