Abstract

Menganalisis Dampak Teater Ekologi terhadap Kesadaran Publik dan Perubahan Perilaku

This study aims to explore the role of ecotheatre in raising environmental awareness and promoting behavior change through a case study of the theatrical performance "Gestur Sungai" staged at the Lambah Sani Festival in 2021. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this research analyzes how narrative elements, acting, and natural settings in the performance contribute to the effectiveness of ecological communication. The results show that the performance successfully enhanced the audience's understanding of environmental issues and motivated them to take more proactive actions in preserving the environment. These findings affirm that ecotheatre can be an effective tool in environmental advocacy, especially when the audience's emotional and intellectual engagement is involved

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran ecoteater dalam meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan dan mendorong perubahan perilaku melalui studi kasus pertunjukan teater "Gestur Sungai" yang dipentaskan dalam Festival Lambah Sani tahun 2021 Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana elemen-elemen naratif, akting, dan setting alam dalam pertunjukan berkontribusi pada efektivitas komunikasi ekologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertunjukan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman penonton tentang isu-isu lingkungan dan memotivasi mereka untuk mengambil tindakan yang lebih proaktif dalam menjaga lingkungan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa ecoteater dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam advokasi lingkungan, terutama ketika elemen emosional dan intelektual penonton terlibat.
